Fitness wise I have always been around sports and gyms.  I grew up playing every sport and specifically became an expert in both volleyball and basketball where I earned a Division 1 NCAA full ride scholarship for both sports to compete at the University of Idaho in the Western Athletic Conference.  Post college career I received the opportunity to compete semi-professionally in the UK and Scotland for the National Volleyball League and the British University College Sports League for Durham University and got to travel all around Europe.  Sports helped me earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science and Health, Master’s Degree in Adult Organizational Learning and Leadership, and a Master’s in Science in Business Management.

After my playing days were over I came back to the Seattle area and had the opportunity to give back to the younger athletes by coaching 3 years for my Alma Mater Mercer Island High School as a Program Assistant Volleyball Coach and a Head JV Girls Basketball Coach and also helped out Lake Washington High School as their head JV Volleyball coach for 3 seasons!

I got into personal training by joining Pro Club and was a 1 on 1 trainer for 6 years.  During that time frame I got to experience all types of clients ranging from top volleyball and basketball athletes, Microsoft employees, parents, retired community, tennis pros, and others who have never seen a gym before.  I was very passionate about helping every individual client succeed through guidance and proper communication of being able to build a specialized program specific to their needs, their limitations, and their goals.  Most importantly I got to learn from my mentors, coworkers, and other trainers with multiple years of experience to help me be the trainer I am today and earn the certifications that I currently hold.

From there I also found a passion in the CrossFit world.  As a CrossFit level 2 trainer I enjoy helping other athletes and members complete CrossFit workouts safely and effectively in a  class setting while also creating a community and relationships through fun workouts.  I also found myself following CrossFit programming and being able to compete as an Rx/Firebreather athlete at local competitions.

Currently I am a full-time Firefighter at Eastside Fire Department and enjoy helping others at my home gym through 1 on 1 training creating programs and working with each client in person to make sure they are moving effectively, making the right exercise selection, and to help motivate each individual in whatever way shape or form is needed.  I am always here for every one of my clients no matter what the circumstances are!
